Business Development Manager

Intro Role
We are building a high-performance sales culture to match our data, analytics and research solutions. This role requires you to drive growth from new clients and requires an entrepreneurial mindset. In this role you are part of the European sales team and the position is based in London. You report to the Director of Sales & Client Services.
Meeting your quarterly quota, you’ll find and close new business and creatively build your network for new prospects through social media, email and sales tools. You are familiar with the concept of value-based selling and understand that your success requires a transparent and repeatable sales prospecting process.

  • Prospect and close appropriate new business prospects in your territory
  • Maintain the minimum weekly/daily prospecting metrics to ensure meeting quota
  • Produce accurate and timely forecasts
  • Solid understanding of Cleantech Group product and service offerings
  • Build and execute targeted prospecting campaigns
  • Work closely with our research and consulting teams to deliver the best solution
  • Build compelling proposal documents in PowerPoint
  • Accurately report and manage your data through Salesforce
Requirements (you don’t need all of these to apply)
Job Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of experience selling in a similar role
  • Demonstrated record of successfully selling intangible services (consulting, research, services)
  • Experience in value-based selling to executives
  • Ability and willingness to generate your own leads in addition to Marketing generated leads
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Good knowledge of the ‘Cleantech’ sector preferred
  • Self-motivated, proactive and solution-driven
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of international business and cultural nuances
  • Willingness to travel
