Intro Role
Cleantech Group's research team strives to deliver timely, high-quality insights to decision-makers tackling challenging sustainability issues. 

You will be responsible for developing a deep understanding of the problems that global industry faces with regard to natural resource management (e.g. water, mining & minerals, carbon, environmental risk monitoring) and managing analysis that will provide guidance on engaging innovative solutions. This will manifest through your own work, and your work managing 3 or more analysts.

Although the position is fully remote, being based in the greater Boston area is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the development, maintenance and delivery of direct report’s market intelligence output schedule – ensuring depth, timeliness, and quality. Balancing team workflow against the capacity requirements from other departments.
  • Work with Business Development teams to develop and expand client base.
  • Development of proposals for market intelligence projects.
  • Personal output of two market intelligence reports per year. Development of public-facing expertise – presenting at external events, sharing perspectives on the company blog and in webinars.
  • Support press inquiries on topics of expertise.
  • Presenting at Cleantech Forums.
  • Responsible for managing analysts in your area of coverage: developing team skills & expertise, supporting career growth.
Requirements (you don’t need all of these to apply)
  • 6+ years of strategy or market intelligence experience.
  • Expertise: Is a Subject Matter Expert on cleantech, ideally one or more of the following technology sectors, carbon markets; circular economy; water; corporate sustainability & climate risk monitoring; nature and biodiversity; critical materials & mining, low-carbon chemicals, steel, cement.
  • Team Management: Management experience of a team that works across multiple business units, maintaining a healthy working environment which supports team growth.
  • Project Management: Manages resources effectively, balances and prioritizes team efforts across deliverables, experience instilling and communicating clear work plans which identify risks, communicates progress, and addresses challenges.
Experience & Knowledge 
  • Knowledge and experience of start-up technology and financing ecosystems, how cleantech companies start and scale, open innovation & corporate engagement with new technology
  • Understanding of sustainability technology – Familiarity with water, natural resources management, impact monitoring & assessment, carbon markets a plus
  • Other valuable areas of expertise include sustainable technologies in critical materials and mining; circular economy; advanced recycling (batteries, textiles, plastics) or air pollution
  • Experience in corporate sustainability, corporate venture capital and/or corporate consulting
